Winona bar robbed by con man

WINONA, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Winona bar is robbed by a man who convinced employees he was a state inspector.

Officials say the man walked into Cheaters Bar & Lounge on Thursday evening and claimed he was a state gambling inspector.

He told employees he was there to review charitable pull-tab collections. The man was given the pull-tab boxes and the cash. The man then excused himself saying he had forgotten something in his car. He left taking both the boxes and cash with him.

After the man didn't return employees called police.

The amount of money stolen has not been disclosed.
