OSAGE, Iowa (FOX 47) -- A 14-year-old Osage boy accused of murdering his mother will be tried in district court.
The Globe Gazette reports the judge's ruling means the court will have greater control over what happens to the teen when he turns 18.
The teen was 13 when the crime happened, so he can't be tried as an adult.
He's accused of murdering his 37-year-old mother, Gretchen Crooks, in March.
