KASSON, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Some trees along Mantorville Avenue in Kasson are coming down.
"These trees have been here a long time, they were big when I moved in and that was 50 years now," said Kasson resident Ronald Eiden.
Kasson's Parks and Recreation Director Ronnie Unger said the trees present a hazard and need to be removed.
"We had some wind storms here a couple weeks ago when we did lose some trees in town, but on Mantorville Avenue, I know it's a safety issue for the Department of Transportation along with the city of Kasson to get these things down before something else happens," said Unger.
The city of Kasson and the Minnesota Department of Transportation have plans to plant new trees.
