Klobuchar continues re-election campaign

AUSTIN, Minn. (FOX 47) -- U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., continued her re-election campaign Tuesday in Austin with a tour of the world famous SPAM Museum.

The tour, while fun and leisurely, came with a purpose as the Senator is touring several Minnesota industries to praise job growth.

Sen. Klobuchar is in the midst of a Made in America tour, in which she is making stops and taking in the tradition of homemade products in southern Minnesota.

She is also making sure these businesses are recognized for their ability to create jobs during hard economic times.

"From Hormel to Schwan's to Land O'Lakes to General Mills," said Klobuchar. "This is working together, our farming communities and our companies. So it's been really positive for greater Minnesota and one of the main reasons Minnesota is doing better than the rest of the country."

This is not the first time Sen. Klobuchar has visited the SPAM Museum but says that she learns something new every time she stops by.

The Senator's stop in Austin Tuesday comes as she is taking on the challenge from Republican hopeful Kurt Bills.
