ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Sales of existing homes rose in Rochester last month.
The Southeast Minnesota Association of Realtors reported 182 homes sold in August. That's up 17 percent from last year and 1 percent from July.
"Through August, the market has shown further signs of stability," said Angie Schott of the Southeast Minnesota Association of Realtors. "Continued historic low interest rates and home affordability will continue to support the stability of the market."
U.S. sales of previously occupied homes jumped last month to the highest level in more than two years. The National Association of Realtors said sales rose 7.8 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.82 million.
