FOREST CITY, Iowa (FOX 47) -- Closing arguments wrapped up Thursday in the arson trial of a former Forest City police officer.
Judge DeDra Schroeder will now deliberate a verdict in the case of 35-year-old Thaddeus Ellenbecker.
Schroeder denied a motion from Ellenbecker's lawyer to acquit Ellenbecker of a second degree arson charge, according to the Winnebago County Attorney's Office.
Ellenbecker is accused of setting fire to the evidence room of the Forest City police station in October 2011.
