BLOOMING PRAIRIE, Minn. (FOX 47) -- You may have watched the primetime special "Stand Up To Cancer."
Community members in Blooming Prairie are doing just that through "Paint Blooming Prairie Pink."
Besides placing pink ribbons all over town, there are 105 flags set up in a field.
Each one represents an individual who has been touched by cancer.
To raise money, a live auction was held on Friday.
On Saturday, festivities will continue at 4:30 p.m. with family bingo, 6:30 p.m. Stix of Fury will play, and at 7:00 p.m. there will be another live auction.
Cheri Krejci says all the money raised will benefit the Eagles Cancer Telethon, as well as area residents affected.
Krejci lost both her parents to cancer and was diagnosed herself in 2009.
She's been cancer free for more than two years.
"It just hits you so hard and it's a life changing event. The sooner we find a cure for it the better," Krejci said.
All the events will take place right off of Main Street in Blooming Prairie.
