WINONA, Minn. (FOX 47) -- The Queen made her maiden voyage to Winona Thursday afternoon -- the Queen of the Mississippi that is.
The new authentic paddle wheeler is the first one built in the last 20 years. The paddle wheeler is owned and operated by American Cruise Lines.
The 150 passenger boat stopped for its first of four scheduled stops to Winona this year.
And when the boat came to dock at the levee, eager sightseers showed up too -- leaving some to wonder what a river journey on the boat would be like.
"It's so pretty," said Pat Glynn, who saw the paddle wheeler Thursday. "You see the beach, you see the towns, and the people that come to wave at you; you know its got to be awesome!"
The Queen of the Mississippi will make 10 planned stops in Winona next year.
