ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 47) -- There's encouraging news for the job market in southeast Minnesota.
New figures from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development showed 6,038 openings in the second quarter.
Statewide, employers reported nearly 63,000 openings in the second quarter -- a number not seen since before the Great Recession.
The jobs were mostly in health care and food service.
The findings come from the department's Job Vacancy Survey of about 10,300 firms in 20 industrial sectors.
