
MASON CITY, Iowa (FOX 47) -- A Mason City man is in custody after threatening a group of kids with a gun.
Mason City police were called shortly before 7 p.m. Monday to a report of a man with a long gun outside a home on North Tennessee Avenue.
Witnesses told police Gary Kalvig, 64, was upset about kids playing in the neighborhood and threatened them.
Police say Kalvig pointed the weapon at a group of kids. He then told one of the kids he was going to kill him.
Kalvig is facing felony charges including going armed with intent and terroristic threats. He is also being charged with carrying weapons and first degree harassment.
