Norman, Springer advance in Wabasha Board of Commissioners race

WABASHA, Minn. (FOX 47) -- In Wabasha County, three candidates ran against incumbent Merl Norman for District 3 County Commissioner.

Norman and Donald Springer move on to face each other in November.

If a challenger is elected, it could move power away from commissioners Deb Roschen and David Harms.

Harms and Roschen have voted with Norman on issues, such as cutting the county's administrator position, and the votes have often been three to two.

Norman had 325 votes, or 34 percent of the vote, and Springer tallied 275, or 29 percent.

Kevin Kautz had 20 percent and Eugene McNallan had 18 percent.
