Mason City man arrested on sexual abuse charges

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa (FOX 47) -- A Mason City man is facing sexual abuse charges.

David Powell II, 25, was arrested Sunday in a sting operation.

Clear Lake police say Powell showed up at a local motel thinking he was going to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex. He was instead met by police.

Powell was taken into custody for lascivious acts with a child and 3rd degree sexual abuse.

Powell is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
