
ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) Rochester-based Reichel Foods is voluntarily recalling 15,880 pounds of ready-to-eat meat products and other items because of possible Listeria contamination.
Reichel says the possible contamination is an isolated incident and items listed below are the only ones affected. All affected retail and convenience stores have been contacted, the company said.
"Reichel Foods has been working with regulatory agencies since Sunday evening to ensure that the potentially affected product is removed from all store shelves and warehouses," CFO Tom Wiechmann said.

The products were shipped to distribution centers in Minnesota, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Texas.
Reichel Foods found the problem through testing and there have been no reports of illness, but if you are concerned about an illness, contact a health care provider.

Listeria
Monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal
infections in young children, frail or elderly people and other with
weakened immune systems. Although healthy people may suffer short-term
symptoms like high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal
pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and
stillbirths among pregnant women.
