Vehicles banned from some Lake Pepin access points

Updated:

GOODHUE COUNTY, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Unseasonably warm weather has prompted Goodhue County Sheriff Scott McNurlin to ban certain vehicles from two bodies of water.

Cars and trucks are prohibited from entering Lake Pepin at the Methodist Campus and Hok-si-la Landing access points.

At Upper Harbor Bay Point, all motorized vehicles are banned, including cars, trucks, ATV's and snowmobiles.

The ban will be in effect until the ice becomes less dangerous.

A violation of the ban carries a maximum fine of $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail.
