MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- John Randle needed to work hard to make it in the NFL.
He was undrafted and undersized in 1990 when he signed with the Minnesota Vikings as a defensive tackle, but 20 years later he's headed for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Randle will be inducted this weekend.
His motor was usually revving, whether he was painting his face before a game or wreaking havoc on the line. Randle even developed a quirky habit of practicing his moves in his spare time, once frightening an older woman at the grocery store by putting a spin move on her cart.
Randle says he was just trying to get better at his job.
Randle finished with 137 1/2 sacks, the sixth-most in NFL history. He spent the last three seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks.
