We have a bright and gorgeous Friday ahead of us to round out the work week, and more importantly, kick off the holiday weekend. High pressure is providing us with this sunshine, but its influence on our weather will last through today as a large storm system from the west approaches the region, bringing changes with it. Clouds will increase this evening and there may be an isolated shower or two around midnight with more widespread showers and thunderstorms possible later tonight and for the first part of Saturday. There will be a slight chance of isolated showers tomorrow afternoon with highs only in the 50s to near 60 degrees. We'll have showers again on Sunday with the best chances of rain again in the morning with a more unsettled day ahead for Monday. Look for periods of showers and thunderstorms on Memorial Day with a slight improvement in temperatures despite the extra clouds. Another couple of storm systems next week will keep the threat of thunderstorms in the area through the end of next week, but there will also be enough sunshine between our showers to warm our temperatures into the 80 degree range.
